Study Day — Antiquity in the Age of AI: Philology, Translation, and Generative Models

The study day “Antiquity in the Age of AI: Philology, Translation, and Generative Models” will take place on Friday, February 13, 2026 at the Université de Rouen Normandie (Mont-Saint-Aignan Campus), Maison de l’Université — Conference Room (Building 9).

It is organized by Marion Lata (CEREdI, URN), Mélanie Lucciano (ERIAC, URN–IUF), and Veronica Revello (ERIAC, URN).

This interdisciplinary event explores the relationships between ancient texts and artificial intelligence: generative models, Greek and Latin text production, quantitative approaches to textual criticism, computational linguistics, machine translation, pedagogical tools, and the theoretical challenges raised by contemporary AI systems.

The day will bring together specialists in philology, classical languages, translation studies, and digital humanities from several European and North American universities.

Free admission — all interested participants are welcome.
